Before the back, comes the front!

I'm using Gemini uprights, lighter and more available that Cortina.The wishbone pickup points are as per the "book" and so are the wishbone dimensions although adjusted for length for the +100 frame.

To set up the pick-up points, I used the jig provided by Greg Rowell in the Clubman Builder's Resource. http://locost7.info/files/suspension/susp_jig.pdf

Welcome to the mad world of Clubbie (or Seven Replica) building! What started for me as a quick and deadly project of maybe 6 months or thereabouts, has now gone into its 3rd year (at the time of writing this in Jan 2007). The basis idea to build a car was born out of a visit to Rob Roy Hill Climb outside Yarraglen, Victoria in April 2004 where I was inspired by a home built Clubbie beating the pants off the odd Porsche 911 and RX7 Turbo. And the owner/driver had built it in 6 months for a budget of $16,000 (AUD). He was a motorcycle rider like myself and this was his motorcycle replacement. As I'd had a "big off" a few months before and was now sporting a new hi-tech knee, the idea of building my own quick little car as a bike replacement had great appeal. What follows is roughly the history of my build which has opened up a whole new world of new found friends, resources and experience. Voom, voom! For the record, my brief car spec is "book" +100 wide, +50 high at the rear and scuttle, engine 2003 Corolla 1zzfe, gearbox T9 Sierra, IRS MX5 LSD 4.1
