Colour

The colour is BMW'S new Mini's Mellow Yellow. There is a Beemer code, but it has "leaked" from my shrinking brain. The SS mesh grill is from Daytona Sportscars. Interestering to find-out how long before Mr Plod chips me on the positioning of the front number-plate, although the Dromana Plod Shop is next door to my Motor Trimer and 2 of them looked over the car from top to bottom yesterday and were full of compliments,. You can never tell!!

Welcome to the mad world of Clubbie (or Seven Replica) building! What started for me as a quick and deadly project of maybe 6 months or thereabouts, has now gone into its 3rd year (at the time of writing this in Jan 2007). The basis idea to build a car was born out of a visit to Rob Roy Hill Climb outside Yarraglen, Victoria in April 2004 where I was inspired by a home built Clubbie beating the pants off the odd Porsche 911 and RX7 Turbo. And the owner/driver had built it in 6 months for a budget of $16,000 (AUD). He was a motorcycle rider like myself and this was his motorcycle replacement. As I'd had a "big off" a few months before and was now sporting a new hi-tech knee, the idea of building my own quick little car as a bike replacement had great appeal. What follows is roughly the history of my build which has opened up a whole new world of new found friends, resources and experience. Voom, voom! For the record, my brief car spec is "book" +100 wide, +50 high at the rear and scuttle, engine 2003 Corolla 1zzfe, gearbox T9 Sierra, IRS MX5 LSD 4.1
